1990, data have been estimated on the basis of the annual National Sample Surveys on Population Changes. Data

of other years were taken from the annual reports of the Ministry of Public Security. (The same as in the following table).

b)The military personnel were included in the national total population,The national total population

excluded the population of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, Macao Special Administrative Region and TaiwanProvince.
