Kang Yi Met with the Delegation of Statistics Korea

On the morning of May 20, Kang Yi, Commissioner of the National Bureau of Statistics of China (NBS of China), met with Ahn Hyung-jun, the Deputy Commissioner of Statistics Korea, and his delegation in Beijing.

Commissioner Kang Yi extended a warm welcome to Mr. Ahn Hyung-jun and his delegation. He noted that the bilateral exchange between the NBS of China and the Statistics Korea has been performed for a long term. More than three decades, the two agencies actively share their successful experience and continue to improve their systems and methods. Therefore, a solid support is provided for the adaption of statistical work to newconditions, new requirements, and better services to social and economic development. He also said, it is expected that both countries can learn from each other to enable statistical data to better serve the public through the communication on several topics, such as economic climate monthly reports and statistical data release.


Mr. Ahn Hyung-jun expressed his gratitude for the warm reception of the NBS of China. He stated that the Statistics Korea stands ready to work together with the NBS of China to consolidate bilateral exchange mechanisms and strengthen their cooperation in the application of new technologies, such as AI, to statistical work, jointly promoting the statistical capability.
