Kang Yi Met with the Delegation of General Statistics Office of Vietnam

On the morning of January 14, Kang Yi, Commissioner of the National Bureau of Statistics of China (NBS of China) met with Nguyen Thanh Duong, the Deputy Director General of General Statistics Office of Vietnam, and his delegation in Beijing.


Commissioner Kang Yi extended a warm welcome to Mr. Nguyen Thanh Duong and his delegation. He noted that in recent years, under the strategic guidance of the heads of the two countries, the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership between China and Vietnam has been deepening and expanding. Statistical cooperation and exchange remains an important component of friendly relationship of the two countries. This year marks the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between China and Vietnam and the Year of People-to-people Exchanges between China and Vietnam. In this important year, the visit by the General Statistics Office of Vietnam highlights the high importance placed on statistical cooperation between the two countries. The NBS of China stands ready to share its experience and practices in statistics with its Vietnam counterparts, and hopes that the two sides will have active exchange and learn from each other to promote the common advancement of the statistical work in both countries.

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Duong expressed his gratitude for the support and assistance provided by the NBS of China in building the statistical capacity of General Statistics Office of Vietnam over the years. He said that the General Statistics Office of Vietnam attaches great importance to its friendly relationship with the NBS of China and hopes to learn from China’s excellent experiences in statistical system building, statistical operation and management to provide reference for optimizing the Vietnamese statistical system through this visit. Additionally, he hopes that both sides could explore fields of common interests and continuously strengthen exchanges of experience and deepen practical cooperation.
