Delegation of RUSFSSS Paid a Visit to NBS

Delegation of Agricultural Statistics headed by Mr. Konstantin Laykam, Deputy Head of Federal State Statistics Services of Russia (RUSFSSS), paid a visit to NBS during May 18-23. Both sides carried through an extensive exchange and discussion on agricultural statistics and Agricultural Census. Mr. Zhang Weimin, Deputy Commissioner of NBS, met with the Delegation in the course of the visit, expressed that both sides should make further cooperation and exchanges, learn from others strong points and close the gap to promote the work of agricultural statistics to make new achievements.

The relevant staff from Department of International Cooperation, Department of Rural Survey, and Department of Statistical Design and Management of NBS introduced organization of China’s official statistical system, overall situation of China’s agriculture, rural areas and farmers, proposal and methods Agricultural Census, publication and dissemination of Agricultural Census, proposal and methods adopted of agricultural sampling survey, new data collection and processing techniques in the investigation and application of census and so on to the Delegation. RUSFSSS introduced their works on agricultural statistics and Census, and hoped that both sides should continue to strengthening cooperation in the future. The Delegation was on a brief visit to Shaanxi Provincial Bureau of Statistics during May 20-21.

Mr. Du Weiqun, Director-General of Department of International Cooperation, Ms. Zhang Shuying, Director-General, and Wang Pingping, Assistant Counsel of Department of Rural Survey, and relevant staff attended the meeting.
