CEO of Global Insight Paid a Visit to NBS

Mr. Xie Hongguang, Deputy Commissioner of NBS interviewed the Delegation of Global Insight Inc. headed by Dr. Joseph E. Kasputys, Chairman, President, and CEO, on July 28.

Mr. Xie Hongguang expressed his warm welcome to the guests, introduced the tremendous achievements scored on China's economic development, and the efforts in statistical information served for the social by NBS to the Delegation. Mr. Xie pointed out that, China's economy created a miracle on an average annual growth of nearly 10 percent in the 30 years’ reform and opening up, China statistical information are more and more arouse the great concern of each Government, international organizations, and enterprises of the world, due to the rapid economic development and constantly improvement on the level of opening to the outside world. In order to adapt to the changes in domestic and foreign demand, NBS was reforming and improving the statistical system, which made of the data producing and releasing process more transparent, enhanced the standardization of statistical work, and joined the GDDS (General Data Dissemination System) in 2002.

Mr. Xie Hongguang said that, China Economic Monitoring and Analysis Center (CEMAC) and Global Insight achieved good results in the pre-preliminary cooperation, and in the sincere hope that the both sides will establishing a long-term cooperation on a mutual trust and win-win basis. Mr. Xie said that NBS will strongly support this cooperation, learn the advanced experiences from Global Insight, understand and feedback the needs of China's statistics from the international community, further improve the social service functions of China statistics via the cooperation.

Dr. Joseph E. Kasputys introduced the basic information of Global Insight particularly. Global Insight recognized as the most consistently accurate forecasting company in the world. Dr. Joseph Kasputys looked forward that the both sides will provide more comprehensive, professional and in-depth information services for the international community based on the basic information services, industry and regional cooperation in areas.

Messrs. Yao Jingyuan, Chief Economist, Du Weiqun, Director-General, Department of International Cooperation, and Pan Jiancheng, Deputy Director-General, China Economic Monitoring and Analysis Center (CEMAC), attended the meeting.
