President of AGB Nielsen Media Research Paid a Visit to NBS

Mr. Xie Hongguang, Deputy Commissioner of NBS, interviewed the delegation headed by Dr. Alberto Colussi, President of the Global Management, AGB Nielsen Media Research, on November 15.

Mr. Xie Hongguang expressed a warm welcome to the Delegation, and introduced the great achievements on China's economic and social development, as well as the China's future development direction and mode after the 17th CPC National Congress. Mr. Xie Hongguang pointed out that, NBS is responsible for statistical data collection, collation and dissemination, provide basic information for the international community to understand China, China's statistical work is facing difficulties and challenges. Mr. Xie also said that, China Economic Monitoring & Analysis Center (CEMAC) has certain advantages in market surveys and research, bilateral cooperation has good prospects, NBS will vigorously support this cooperation.

AGB Nielsen Media Research is a research firm in a leading position, which focuses on TV ratings survey at the international level, and has established holding subsidiaries more than 30 countries in the world. Dr. Colussi introduced the advanced technologies and investigation methods in the television ratings survey area of the Group, as well as the progress made in China. Dr. Colussi looks forward the cooperation between CEMAC and AGB Nielsen Media Research will be a success.

The representatives on both sides signed the "Memorandum of Cooperation" and "Project Commissioned by the Agreement" after the meeting.

Messrs. Du Weiqun, and Xu Tiefu, Director-Generals, Department of International Cooperation, and China Economic Monitoring & Analysis Center (CEMAC), attended the meeting.
