Mr. Li Qiang Met with Japansese Mission

The Chief Statistician of NBS, Mr. Li Qiang met Japanese mission on 20 September 2006 in NBS. The Japanese mission headed by Professor Masahiko Shimizu of Keio University. The mission consisted of 10 persons from Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, Rissho University, Keio Economic Observatory and Hitachi Research Institute.

The major objectives of the Japanese mission are that the Japanese will conduct their first Economic Census during 2009-2011, and China successfully implemented the first Economic Census in 2004, so the mission wish to obtain useful experiences from the NBS of China.

During the meeting, Mr. Li Qiang briefed the Japanese mission with the general design, relevant statistical survey activities and statistical standards, classifications. Together with Mr. Li Qiang, Mr. Yang Kuankuan, Acting Director-General of the Census Center and Mr. Qi Shuchang, Deputy Director-General of National Accounts also met with the Japanese guests, and briefed the mission with the register of establishments, the interviewees and the method of National Accounts, data resources, the relationship between Economic Census and the Input –Output Tables.

Invited by the Japanese mission, persons in charge of the Census Center and the Department of Industry and Transport Statistics briefed the mission with organization of the Economic Census and the relationship between Economic Census and Industry Statistics.
