I. Coal, Crude Petroleum Oil and Natural Gas Production and Relevant Information

Coal production grew steadily. In November, 430 million tons of coal were produced by industrial enterprises above the designated size, up by 1.8 percent year on year, with an average daily output of 14.266 million tons. The import of coal stood at 54.98 million tons, up by 26.4 percent year on year.

From January to November, 4.32 billion tons of coal were produced by industrial enterprises above the designated size, up by 1.2 percent year on year. The import of coal stood at 490 million tons, up by 14.8 percent year on year.

Crude petroleum oil production continued to grow. In November, 17.25 million tons of crude petroleum oil were produced by industrial enterprises above the designated size, up by 0.2 percent year on year, with an average daily output of 575,000 tons. The import of crude petroleum oil stood at 48.52 million tons, up by 14.4 percent year on year.

From January to November, 194.92 million tons of crude petroleum oil were produced by industrial enterprises above the designated size, up by 1.9 percent year on year. The import of crude petroleum oil stood at 505.59 million tons, down by 1.9 percent year on year.

Crude petroleum oil processing changed from decline to growth. In November, 58.51 million tons of crude petroleum oil were processed by industrial enterprises above the designated size, up by 0.2 percent year on year, compared to a decrease of 4.6 percent in October; the daily processing capacity averaged 1.950 million tons. From January to November, 649.10 million tons of crude petroleum oil were processed by industrial enterprises above the designated size, down by 1.8 percent year on year.

Natural gas production saw steady growth. In November, 20.7 billion cubic meters of natural gas were produced by industrial enterprises above the designated size, up by 3.1 percent year on year, with an average daily output of 690 million cubic meters. The import of natural gas stood at 10.80 million tons, down by 0.8 percent year on year.

II. Electricity Generation

The power generation of industrial enterprises above the designated size experienced steady growth. In November, 749.5 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity were generated by industrial enterprises above the designated size, up by 0.9 percent year on year, with an average daily electricity generation capacity of 24.98 billion kilowatt-hours. From January to November, 8.5687 trillion kilowatt-hours of electricity were generated by industrial enterprises above the designated size, up by 5.0 percent year on year.

From the perspective of energy sources, November saw a slowdown in the growth rates of thermal and solar power generation by industrial enterprises above the designated size. Meanwhile, the decline in hydropower generation narrowed, the growth rate of nuclear-power generation accelerated, and the wind power generation changed from growth to decline. Among them, the thermal power generated by industrial enterprises above the designated size increased by 1.4 percent year on year, with a growth rate of 0.4 percentage point slower than that in October; the hydropower generated by industrial enterprises above the designated size decreased by 1.9 percent, with a decline narrowing by 13.0 percentage points compared to October; the nuclear-power generated by industrial enterprises above the designated size increased by 3.1 percent, with a growth rate of 0.9 percentage point faster than that in October; the wind power generated by industrial enterprises above the designated size decreased by 3.3 percent, compared with an increase of 34.0 percent in October; the solar power generated by industrial enterprises above the designated size increased by 10.3 percent, with a growth rate of 2.3 percentage points slower than that in October.

Annotations:

1. Explanatory Notes

Average daily product output: It is calculated by dividing the total output of industrial enterprises above the designated size announced in that month by the calendar days of that month.

2. Statistical Coverage

The statistical caliber of the output data in the report is the industrial enterprises above the designated size, and the statistical scope is industrial enterprises with an annual main business revenue of 20 million yuan and above.

Because the scope of industrial enterprises above the designated size changes every year, to ensure that this year's data is comparable with the previous year's, the cumulative figures for the same period last year used to calculate year-on-year growth rates for product output and other indicators are consistent with the statistical scope of enterprises in the current period. And there may be a discrepancy in statistical standard and coverage between the data released this year and last year.

3. Data Source

Import data came from the General Administration of Customs of the People's Republic of China, of which November 2024 data is express data.

4. Conversion relationship of natural gas units: 1 ton is equal to 1,380 cubic meters.
