Average Annual Wage of Employed Persons in Enterprise Above Designated Size in 2022

The average annual wage of employees in enterprises above designated size nationwide in 2022 was 92,492 yuan, a nominal increase of 5.0% over the previous year. Among them, the wage of middle-level and above management is 189,076 yuan, an increase of 4.7%; the wage of professional and technical personnel is 133,264 yuan, an increase of 6.6%; the wage of office workers and related personnel is 85,881 yuan, an increase of 4.1%; the wage of personnel engaged in social production services and life services is 70,234 yuan, an increase of 3.3%; and the wage of personnel engaged in manufacturing and related personnel is 71,147 yuan, an increase of 3.9%.

1. Explanation of Indicators

Middle Level and above Management Personnel: refers to the personnel who hold the leading positions in the unit and its functional departments and have the decision-making and management rights.  It includes the main person in charge or senior management (including the same level and deputy), the person in charge of the first level department or internal organization (including the same level and deputy), and the extra-large unit can include the person in charge of the management organization (including deputy) in the first level department.

Professional and Technical Personnel: refers to personnel specialized in various scientific research and professional and technical work. Personnel engaged in this type of professional work are generally required to receive systematic professional education, have corresponding professional theoretical knowledge, and evaluate and employ professional and technical posts according to the specified standard conditions, as well as personnel who do not employ professional and technical posts but work in professional and technical posts. Specifically, it includes scientific researchers, engineering technicians, agricultural technicians, aircraft and ship technicians, health professionals, economic and financial professionals, legal, social and religious professionals, teaching personnel, literature and art, sports professionals, news publishing, culture professionals, and other professional technicians.

Office workers and related personnel: refers to the personnel engaged in administrative operations, administrative affairs, administrative law enforcement, safety and security, and firefighting in state organs, party organizations, enterprises and institutions,  specifically includes clerical staff, security and firefighting personnel, other office workers and related personnel.

Personnel engaged in social production services and life service: refers to the personnel engaged in wholesale and retail of goods, transport, storage, post and courier, information transmission, software and information technology, hotel and catering services, financial intermediation, leasing and business, ecological protection, culture, sports and entertainment and other social production services and life services. They specifically include wholesale and retail service personnel, transport, storage and post service personnel, hotel and catering service personnel, information transmission, software and information technology service personnel, financial service personnel, real estate service personnel, leasing and business service personnel, technical support services personnel, water conservancy, environment and public facilities management service personnel, residential service personnel, electricity, gas and water supply service personnel, repair and production service personnel, cultural, sports and entertainment service personnel, health service personnel, other social production and life service personnel.

Personnel engaged in manufacturing and related personnel: refers to personnel engaged in mineral extraction, product manufacturing, engineering construction and operation of transport equipment and related personnel. They specifically include personnel engaged in processing of food from agricultural and sideline products, personnel engaged in production and processing of food and beverage, personnel engaged in the processing of tobacco and its products, personnel engaged in textile, knitting, printing and dyeing, personnel engaged in the processing and production of textiles, clothing and leather, and fur products, personnel engaged in wood processing and manufacturing of furniture and wood products, personnel engaged in the production and processing of paper and paper products, personnel engaged in printing and recording media reproduction, personnel engaged in the manufacturing of cultural, educational, industrial art, sports and recreational goods, personnel engaged in petroleum processing and coking, and coal chemical production, personnel engaged in the manufacturing of raw chemical materials and chemical products, pharmaceutical manufacturing personnel, personnel engaged in the manufacturing of chemical fiber, personnel engaged in the manufacturing of rubber and plastic products, personnel engaged in the manufacturing of non-metallic mineral products, mining personnel, personnel engaged in smelting and pressing of metals, personnel engaged in the processing of machinery manufacturing basis, personnel engaged in the manufacturing of metal products, personnel engaged in the manufacturing of general-purpose equipment, personnel engaged in the manufacturing of special-purpose equipment, personnel engaged in automobile manufacturing, personnel engaged in the manufacturing of railroad, ship, aerospace equipment, personnel engaged in the manufacturing of electrical machinery and apparatus, personnel engaged in the manufacturing of computers, communication and other electronic equipment, personnel engaged in manufacturing of measuring instrument and equipment, personnel engaged in waste resource comprehensive utilization, personnel engaged in production and supply of electricity, heat power, gas, water, building construction personnel, operators of transport equipment and general-purpose engineering machinery and related personnel, production support personnel, other production and manufacturing and related personnel.

The above five categories of posts are divided according to "Occupational Classification System of the People's Republic of China (2015 Edition)" stipulated by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security.

2. Statistical Coverage

Enterprises above designated size specifically include industry above designated size (including mining, manufacturing, electricity, production and supply of heat power, gas and water), qualified construction, wholesale and retail above the limit, hotels and catering services above the limit, all real estate development and operation with development and operation activities, services above designated size (including transport, storage and post, information transmission, software and information technology services, leasing and business services, scientific research and technology services, water conservancy, environment and public facilities management, residential services, repair and other services, education, health and social service, culture, sports and entertainment, as well as property management, real estate agency services and other industries) , a total of 16 industry categories of about 1,381,000 corporate units.

3. Survey Methods

According to Statistical Survey System of Enterprises with One Set of Tables and Statistical Survey System of Labor Wages formulated by the National Bureau of Statistics, a comprehensive survey method is adopted for the enterprises above the designated size.

4. Division on Eastern, Central, Western and Northeastern Regions

The Eastern Region includes 10 provinces (municipalities directly under the Central Government) of Beijing, Tianjin, Hebei, Shanghai, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Fujian, Shandong, Guangdong and Hainan.

The Central Region includes 6 provinces of Shanxi, Anhui, Jiangxi, Henan, Hubei and Hunan.

The Western Region includes 12 provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the Central Government) of Inner Mongolia, Guangxi, Chongqing, Sichuan, Guizhou, Yunnan, Tibet, Shaanxi, Gansu, Qinghai, Ningxia and Xinjiang.

The Northeast region includes 3 provinces of Liaoning, Jilin and Heilongjiang.

5. Industrial Classification Standard

The industrial classification standard of wage statistics shall be implemented in accordance with the Industrial Classification of National Economy (GB / T4754-2017).

6. Types of Registration

Others include cooperative joint-stock enterprises, joint ventures, and other domestic enterprises.
