National Bureau of Statistics of China 2023-03-16 10:00 Print| Large| Medium| Small

From January to February, the production of main energy of industries above designated size kept a year-on-year growth. Compared with December of last year, the growth rate of raw coal and natural gas accelerated, crude oil and electric power production was slowed down.

I. Raw Coal, Crude Oil and Natural Gas Production and Relevant Information

The growth rate of raw coal production increased rapidly, and the import has rebounded sharply. From January to February, 730 million tons of raw coal were produced, a year-on-year increase of 5.8 percent, 3.4 percentage point faster than that of the previous month, and the average daily output was 12.44 million tons. The import of coal was 60.64 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 70.8 percent, a decrease of 0.1 percent in December of last year.

The growth rate of crude oil production was slightly slowed down, and the import changed from increasing to decreasing. From January to February, it produced 34.17 million tons of crude oil, a year-on-year increase of 1.8 percent, 0.7 percentage point lower than that in December of last year, and the average daily output was 579,000 tons. The import of crude oil was 84.06 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 1.3 percent, an increase of 4.2 percent in December last year.

The growth of crude oil processing volume was accelerated. From January to February, 116.07 million tons of crude oil were processed, a year-on-year increase of 3.3 percent, 0.8 percentage point faster than that in December of last year, and the average daily processing was 1.967 million tons.

The growth rate of natural gas production increased steadily, and the decrease in imports was narrowed. From January to February, it produced 39.8 billion cubic meters of natural gas, a year-on-year increase of 6.7 percent, 0.2 percentage points faster than that in December of last year, and the average daily output was 670 million cubic meters. The import of natural gas was 17.93 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 9.4 percent, 2.4 percentage points lower than that in December last year.

II. Electric Power Production

The power production was slowed down. From January to February, the power generation was 1,349.7 billion kwh, a year-on-year increase of 0.7 percent, a decrease of 2.3 percent in December last year, and the average daily power generation was 22.88 billion kwh.

From the perspective of varieties, from January to February, the thermal power and hydropower changed from increasing to decreasing, the growth of nuclear power slowed down, and the growth of wind power and solar power accelerated. Among them, thermal power decreased by 2.3 percent year-on-year, hydropower decreased by 3.4 percent, nuclear power increased by 4.3 percent. wind power increased by 30.2 percent; solar power generation increased by 9.3 percent;

Annotations:

1. Explanatory Notes

Average daily product output: It is calculated by dividing the total output of Industrial Enterprises above the designated size announced in that month by the calendar days of that month.

2. Statistical Coverage

The statistical caliber of the output data in the report is above the designated size of industry, and the statistical scope is industrial enterprises with annual main business income of more than 20 million yuan.

Because the scope of Industrial Enterprises above the designated size changes every year, in order to ensure that this year's data is comparable with the previous year's, the same period used to calculate the growth rate of various indicators such as product output is consistent with the statistical scope of enterprises in this period, and there is a caliber difference between the data released last year.

3. Data Source

Import data comes from the General Administration of Customs, of which from January to February 2023 are express data.

4. Conversion relationship of natural gas units: 1 ton is equal to 1380 cubic meters.
