Industrial Profits Went up from January to October

Industrial profits in 24 regions* realized 2,838 billion yuan from January to October, increased 51.6 percent, year-on-year, narrowed 1.9 percentage points over the past nine months.

Among the 39 industrial divisions, 37 divisions registered year-on-year increase in profits, 1 division reversed from loss-making to profits, and 1 division witnessed reduction of profits.

Comparing with the past nine months, the growth rate of profits in 24 industrial divisions declined while that of 13 divisions climbed. Of the total, the profits of oil and natural gas extraction industry, raw chemical materials and chemical products, ferrous metal smelting and rolling processing industry, non-ferrous metal smelting and rolling processing industry, manufacture of transportation equipment, manufacture of communication equipment, computers and other electric equipment increased 69.7, 56.9, 60.1, 95.5, 67.4 and 74.7 percent, respectively. The profits of ferrous metals mining and dressing, chemical fiber industry, electric power and heat power production and supply up by 1.23, 1.28 and 1.37 times; while the profits of oil processing, coking and nuclear fuel processing declined 8.2 percent year-on-year.

The main business revenue for industry in 24 regions reached 45,303.9 billion yuan, increased 32.1 percent year-on-year, reduced 0.5 percentage point over past nine months.

By the end of October, the total volume of net accounts receivable for industry in 24 regions hit 4,835.6 billion yuan, climbed 22 percent year-on-year, down by 0.6 percentage point over the end of September. The finished goods funds accounted for 1,898.5 billion yuan, went up 9.3 percent year-on-year, 1.5 percentage points higher over the end of September.

I. The financial reports on industrial enterprises above designated size are performed four comprehensive surveys on January to February, January to May, January to August and January to November according to the current Regulations on National Statistical Survey, then the data are reported by each province, verified and tabulated by Industry Department of NBS, and then respectively released on March, June, September and December.

II. Since 2008, part of provinces increased survey frequencies themselves. Currently, the monthly data except that on January to February, January to May, January to August and January to November, are tabulated and processed by Industry Department of NBS based on the comprehensive data reported by 24 regions remained persisting monthly surveys. In order to convenient for the public to observe the changes on industrial economic benefits, and to know its tendencies on each month, we release tabulated data of 24 regions respectively on April, May, July, August, October and November.

*refers to the industrial enterprises above designated size in 24 provinces except Inner Mongolia, Hunan, Guangdong, Hainan, Chongqing, Yunnan and Tibet, which main business revenue accounted for 82 percent.
