Producer's Price of Major Agricultural Products Kept Expanding in the First Quarter
According to the result of nationwide survey on 31,000 agricultural holdings conducted by National Bureau of Statistics of China, it showed that in the first quarter, the producer's price of major agricultural products (the direct price which sold by the agricultural producers) grew up 25.5 percent, year-on-year. Of which, the producer’s price of planting, forestry, animal husbandry and fishing products rose 14.8, 13.0, 44.9, and 12.9 percent respectively.
In terms of planting products, the producer’s price of foodstuff surging 11.4 percent, year-on-year. Of which, producer’s price of cereal, wheat, rice, corn, beans, potato, cotton, oil-bearing crops, vegetable, fruit, tea, and tobacco leaf climbing 7.1, 8.7, 3.5, 8.9, 36.5, 13.0, 12.2, 33.4, 23.4, 9.7, 8.9, and 14.2 percent respectively; while that of sugar declined 3.5 percent.
In terms of forestry products, the producer’s price of timber, bamboo, and glue grease and fruits increased 10.8, 13.4, and 14.0 percent respectively.
In terms of animal husbandry products, the producer’s price of pigs slaughtered, meat cattle and beefs, live sheep, poultry, eggs, dairy products and feather products jumping 62.1, 37.3, 36.9, 17.9, 15.9, 36.8, and 4.3 percent respectively.
In terms of fishing products, the producer’s price of seawater products climbed up by 8.5 percent year-on-year. Of which, seawater fish up 14.6 percent, seashell increased 2.5 percent respectively; the producer’s price of freshwater products was up by 16.9 percent. Of which, freshwater fish climbing 16.1 percent; that of freshwater shrimp and crab expanded by 30.7 percent.
