Call for Paper Announcement for Session 8
18th Roundtable on Business Survey Frames,
Beijing, China
October 2004
Session 8 : Invitation to participate: Enterprise Demography
Enterprise Demography: The availability of complete administrative data files offers many new opportunities to develop new data and information products. Business demographic data provide new insights into the labor market below the traditional “employment change” statistics. Measures of job creation and destruction, for opening, closing and continuous business establishments offer this increased profile.
Particularly critical to effectively measuring creation and destruction is capturing mergers, acquisitions and other business changes that are not true births or deaths. Available data sources and automated and manual reviews will vary by available resources and methods.
Presenters can cover one or more of these or other related topics:
- linkage procedures
- nondisclosure
- profile of economic business demographics data and analysis
- related research results
Aim of the session
The goal of this session is to provide an opportunity to discuss issues relevant to either topic, research results or related advancements.
Any participants wishing to participate in this session are invited to send me a brief abstract on your proposed contribution by Wednesday, July 14. We will send further instructions regarding the due date for your paper at a later date. I look forward to your ideas and discussion.
