In July, the production of main energy of industries above the designated size kept a year-on-year growth. Compared with June, the growth rate of raw coal and crude oil production slowed down, and that of natural gas production and power generation accelerated.

I. Raw Coal, Crude Oil and Natural Gas Production and Relevant Information

The growth rate of raw coal production slightly increased year on year, and that of the import was still among the top. In July, 380 million tons of raw coal were produced, up by 0.1 percent, a growth rate of 2.4 percentage points slower than that of the previous month, with an average daily output of 12.18 million tons. The import of coal was 39.26 million tons, up by 66.9 percent year on year, a growth rate of 43.2 percentage points slower than that of the previous month.

From January to July, 2.67 billion tons of raw coal were produced, up by 3.6 percent year on year. The import of coal was 260 million tons, up by 88.6 percent year on year.

The production of crude oil increased slightly, and the import kept a rapid growth. In July, 17.31 million tons of crude oil were produced, up by 1.0 percent year on year, a growth rate of 0.9 percentage point slower than that of the previous month, with an average daily output of 558,000 tons. The import of crude oil was 43.69 million tons, up by 17.0 percent year on year, a growth rate of 28.4 percentage points slower than that of the previous month.

From January to July, 122.37 million tons of crude oil were produced, up by 1.9 percent year on year. The import of crude oil was 325.75 million tons, up by 12.4 percent year on year.

The growth rate of crude oil processing capacity accelerated. In July, 63.13 million tons of crude oil were processed, up by 17.4 percent year on year, a growth rate of 7.2 percentage points faster than that of the previous month, with an average daily processing capacity of 2.037 million tons. From January to July, 426.71 million tons of crude oil were processed, up by 10.9 percent year on year.

The growth rate of natural gas production accelerated, and the import achieved a fairly rapid growth. In July, 18.4 billion cubic meters of natural gas were produced, up by 7.6 percent year on year, a growth rate of 2.1 percentage points faster than that of the previous month, with an average daily output of 590 million cubic meters. The import of natural gas was 10.31 million tons, up by 18.5 percent year on year, a growth rate of 1.1 percentage points slower than that of the previous month.

From January to July, 134.0 billion cubic meters of natural gas were produced, up by 5.7 percent year on year. The import of natural gas was 66.88 million tons, up by 7.6 percent year on year.

II. Power Generation

The power generation accelerated. In July, the power generation was 846.2 billion kWh, up by 3.6 percent year on year, a growth rate of 0.8 percentage point faster than that of the previous month, with an average daily power generation of 27.30 billion kWh. From January to July, the power generation was 5.0130 trillion kWh, up by 3.8 percent year on year.

From the perspective of energy sources, in July, the growth rate of thermal power, nuclear power and solar power generation slowed down, the decline of hydropower generation narrowed, and the growth rate of wind power generation changed from decreasing to increasing. Among them, the growth rate of thermal power generation increased by 7.2 percent year on year, 7.0 percentage points slower than the previous month; that of hydropower generation decreased by 17.5 percent, 16.4 percentage points slower than the previous month; that of nuclear power generation increased by 2.9 percent, 10.9 percentage points slower than the previous month; that of wind generation increased by 25.0 percent and decreased by 1.8 percent in the previous month; that of solar power generation increased by 6.4 percent, 2.4 percentage points slower than the previous month.

Annotations:

1. Explanatory Notes

Average daily product output: It is calculated by dividing the total output of Industrial Enterprises above the designated size announced in that month by the calendar days of that month.

2. Statistical Coverage

The statistical caliber of the output data in the report is above the designated size of industry, and the statistical scope is industrial enterprises with annual main business income of more than 20 million yuan.

Because the scope of industrial enterprises above the designated size changes every year, in order to ensure that this year's data is comparable with the previous year's, the same period used to calculate the growth rate of various indicators such as product output is consistent with the statistical scope of enterprises in this period, and there is a different data access standard between the data released this year and last year.

3. Data Source

Import data comes from the General Administration of Customs of the People's Republic of China, of which July data are express data.

4. Conversion relationship of natural gas units: 1 ton is equal to 1,380 cubic meters.
