In April, the production of main energy of industries above designated size kept a year-on-year growth. Compared with March, the growth rate of raw coal, natural gas and power production accelerated, and the crude oil was slow down.

I. Raw Coal, Crude Oil and Natural Gas Production and Relevant Information

The growth rate of raw coal production increased steadily, and the import has continued to increase sharply. In April, 380 million tons of raw coal were produced, a year-on-year increase of 4.5 percent, 0.2 percentage point faster than that of the previous month, and the average daily output was 12.72 million tons. The import of coal was 40.68 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 72.7 percent, and 78.0 percentage points slower than March.

From January to April, 1.53 billion tons of raw coal were produced, a year-on-year increase of 4.8 percent. The import of coal was 140 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 88.8 percent.

The growth rate of crude oil production was slightly slowed down, and the import changed from increasing to decreasing. In April, it produced 17.28 million tons of crude oil, a year-on-year increase of 1.4 percent, 1.0 percentage point slower than the previous month, and the average daily output was 576,000 tons. The growth of crude oil processing volume was markedly accelerated. In April, 61.14 million tons of crude oil were processed, a year-on-year increase of 18.9 percent, 10.1 percentage points faster than March, and the average daily processing was 2.038 million tons. From January to April, 240.18 million tons of crude oil were processed, a year-on-year increase of 8.3 percent.

The growth rate of natural gas production was accelerated, and the import maintained rapid growth. In April, it produced 18.9 billion cubic meters of natural gas, a year-on-year increase of 7.0 percent, 3.0 percentage points faster than last month, and the average daily output was 630 million cubic meters. The import of natural gas was 8.98 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 11.0 percent, and 0.6 percentage point slower than the previous month.

From January to April, 78.3 billion cubic meters of natural gas were produced, a year-on-year increase of 4.8 percent. The imported natural gas was 35.69 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 0.3 percent.

II. Electric Power Production

In April, the power generation was 658.4 billion kWh, a year-on-year increase of 6.1 percent, an increase of 1.0 percentage point faster over the previous month, and the average daily power generation was 21.95 billion kWh. From January to April, the power generation was 2.7309 trillion kWh, a year-on-year increase of 3.4 percent.

From the perspective of varieties, in April, the growth of thermal power, nuclear power and wind power accelerated, the decline of hydropower expanded, and the growth of solar power changed from increasing to decreasing. Among them, thermal power increased by 11.5 percent year-on-year, 2.4 percentage points faster than last month; nuclear power increased by 5.7 percent, 1.1 percentage points faster than last month; wind power increased by 20.9 percent, 20.7 percentage points faster than last month; hydropower decreased by 25.9 percent, 10.4 percentage points higher than last month; and solar power decreased 3.3 percent, increased by 13.9 percent in the previous month.

Annotations:

1. Explanatory Notes

Average daily product output: It is calculated by dividing the total output of Industrial Enterprises above the designated size announced in that month by the calendar days of that month.

2. Statistical Coverage

The statistical caliber of the output data in the report is above the designated size of industry, and the statistical scope is industrial enterprises with annual main business income of more than 20 million yuan.

Because the scope of Industrial Enterprises above the designated size changes every year, in order to ensure that this year's data is comparable with the previous year's, the same period used to calculate the growth rate of various indicators such as product output is consistent with the statistical scope of enterprises in this period, and there is a caliber difference between the data released last year.

3. Data Source

Import data comes from the General Administration of Customs, of which April data are express data.

4. Conversion relationship of natural gas units: 1 ton is equal to 1,380 cubic meters.
