In 2020, the annual average wage of employees in Enterprises above Designated Size was 79,854 yuan, an increase [1] of 6.1 percent over the previous year. Of which, the middle-level and above management personnel reached 164,979 yuan, an increase of 5.2 percent; professional and technical personnel was 112,576 yuan, an increase of 6.4 percent; administrative and related personnel was 75,167 yuan, an increase of 6.0 percent; social production service and life service personnel were 61,938 yuan, an increase of 3.2 percent; manufacturing and related personnel amounted to 62,610 yuan, an increase of 5.1 percent. The average salary of middle-level and above managers was the highest, which was 2.07 times of the average level of all employees; the average wage of social production service and life service personnel was the lowest, which was 78 percent of the average level of all employed personnel. The ratio of the highest to the lowest post average wage was 2.66, an increase of 0.03 over the previous year.

 

According to the four regions, the areas with the highest average salary for the five categories of posts were all in the east, with the average salary of 191,577 yuan for middle-level and above managers, 129,052 yuan for professional and technical personnel, 84,787 yuan for clerks and related personnel, 67,652 yuan for social production services and living service personnel, 65,241 yuan for production and manufacturing and related personnel. The lowest average wage of the five types of posts were all in the middle, with 117,426, 81,705, 58,276, 50,873 and 56,302 yuan respectively.

In terms of industry categories, information transmission, software and information technology services were the industries with the highest average wages for middle-level and above management personnel, professional and technical personnel, clerks and relevant personnel, social production service and life service personnel, with the average wages of  338,908, 199,228, 123,557 and 121,406 yuan respectively; the industry with the highest average wages of manufacturing and related personnel was power, heat, gas and water production and supply industries, with an average wage of 109,193 yuan; the lowest average wages of middle-level and above management personnel, professional and technical personnel, clerks and related personnel, manufacturing and related personnel were in accommodation and catering industry, with average wages of 93,164, 55,828, 46,096 and 39,623 yuan respectively; the lowest average wage of social production service and life service personnel was in water conservancy, environment and public facilities management, with an average wage of 34,914 yuan.

According to the registration type, the enterprises with the highest average salary in the middle and above management, clerks and related personnel, social production services and life service personnel were all foreign-invested enterprises, with the average wages of 329,642, 122,663 and 85,165 yuan respectively; the highest average wage of professional and technical personnel was enterprises invested by Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, with an average wage of 174,155 yuan; the highest average wage of manufacturing and related personnel was in state-owned enterprises, with an average wage of 81,424 yuan; the enterprises with the lowest average wages of middle-level and above management personnel, professional and technical personnel, clerks and related personnel, social production service and life service personnel, production and manufacturing and related personnel were collective enterprises, with average wages of 104,404, 63,604, 52,311, 46,303 and 48,220 yuan respectively. The highest and lowest ratios of average salary of five types of posts in various types of enterprises were 3.16, 2.74, 2.34, 1.84 and 1.69 respectively.

Professional and Technical Personnel: refers to personnel specialized in various scientific research and professional and technical work. Personnel engaged in this type of professional work are generally required to receive systematic professional education, have corresponding professional theoretical knowledge, and evaluate and employ professional and technical posts according to the specified standard conditions, as well as personnel who do not employ professional and technical posts but work in professional and technical posts. Enterprises above Designated Size include: industries above designated size (including mining industry, manufacturing industry, electricity, heat, gas and water production and supply industry), qualified construction industry, wholesale and retail industry above designated size, accommodation and catering industry above designated size, all real estate development and operation with development and operation activities, and service industry above designated size (including transportation, storage and postal industry, Information transmission, software and information technology services, leasing and business services, scientific research and technology services, water conservancy, environment and public facilities management, residential services, repair and other services, education, health and social work, culture, sports and entertainment, property management, real estate intermediary services and other industries) about 1,139,000 legal entity enterprises in 16 industries.

 

3. Survey Methods

 

According to the Survey System of Enterprise One Table and the Survey System of Labor Wage formulated by the National Bureau of statistics, a comprehensive survey method is adopted for the wage statistics of one set of table and network direct reporting units.

 

4. Division Method of East, Central, West and Northeast China

 

The East includes: Beijing, Tianjin, Hebei, Shanghai, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Fujian, Shandong, Guangdong and Hainan.

 

The central part includes Shanxi, Anhui, Jiangxi, Henan, Hubei and Hunan.

 

The West includes: Inner Mongolia, Guangxi, Chongqing, Sichuan, Guizhou, Yunnan, Tibet, Shaanxi, Gansu, Qinghai, Ningxia and Xinjiang.

 

The Northeast includes Liaoning, Jilin and Heilongjiang.

 

5. Industrial Classification Standard

 

The industrial classification standard of wage statistics shall be implemented in accordance with the Industrial Classification of National Economy (GB / T4754-2017).

 

6. Registration Type
