Mr. Ma Jiantang attended the Presidium Conference Call of the United Nations Statistical Commission

On the evening of September 3, Mr. Ma Jiantang, Commissioner of the NBS, attended the Presidium conference call of the United Nations Statistical Commission, as the Vice-Chairman of the United Nations Statistical Commission.

The agenda of the 46th Session of the United Nations Statistical Commission in 2015 was reviewed and amended, and the measures to improve working methods of the United Nations Statistical Commission was also considered during the conference call.

On the conference call, Mr. Ma suggested that conferences of the United Nations Statistical Commission to be further simplified, as well as to concentrate on discussion and decisions about major statistical issues of common concern, to enhance the efficiency of the conferences.

This conference call was hosted by Ms. Gabriella Vukovich, President of the Hungarian Central Statistical Office, as the acting chairman of the United Nations Statistical Commission. Other members of the Presidium and Mr. Stefan Schweinfest, Director of the United Nations Statistics Division, attended the conference call.
