Brief Introduction

I. Main Contents

This chapter provides information that reflects natural resource conditions and the progress of ecological of ecological environment protection in China.

Data on natural resources cover land conditions water resources, forest resources, mineral resources and meteorological conditions.

The progress of ecological environment protection mainly include water supply and  water use, discharge of main pollutant contents in wastewater and  waste gas; treatment and reuse of solid wastes; urban air quality; collection, transportation and disposal of municipal waste; monitoring of urban road traffic noise and environmental noise in major cities; afforestation, grassland construction and natural reserve protection; incidences of geological disasters, earthquake, marine disasters and forest disasters, environmental emergency events; investment in environment pollution treatment, etc.

II. Sources of Data

Data on land conditions, rivers, mineral resources, marine disasters, water resources, meteorological  conditions, collection and disposal of municipal wastes, forest resources and afforestation, grassland construction, natural reserve, losses of natural disasters and extreme events, earthquake, etc. are provided respectively by Ministry of Natural Resources, Ministry of Water Resources, China Meteorological Administration, Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, State Forestry and Grassland Administration, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, Ministry of Emergency Management.

Data on environmental pollution and treatment, air quality, noise and investment in the treatment of industrial pollution are provided by the Ministry of Ecology and Environment.
