Brief Introduction

 

I. Main Contents

This chapter contains information that reflects natural resource conditions and the development of environment protection in China.

Data on natural resources cover land condition, water resources, forest resources, mineral resources and meteorological phenomena.

The development of environment protection mainly include water supply and utilization, discharge of waste water and key pollutants in waste gas; treatment and utilization of solid wastes; urban air quality; collection, transport and disposal of consumption wastes in cities; monitoring of urban road traffic noise and environmental noise in major cities; afforestation, grassland construction and natural protection; incidences of geological, seismic, marine and forest disasters, environmental emergency; investment in environment pollution treatment, etc.

II. Sources of Data

Data on land condition, rivers, mineral resources, meteorological phenomena, water resources, collection and disposal of urban consumption wastes, forest resources and afforestation, grassland construction, loss of natural calamities, earthquake and marine disasters, etc. are provided respectively by Ministry of Land and Resources, Ministry of Water Resources, China Meteorological Administration, Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, State Forestry Administration, Ministry of Agriculture, Ministry of Civil Affairs, China Earthquake Administration and State Oceanic Administration.

Data on environmental pollution and treatment, air quality, noise, natural reserves and investment in the treatment of industrial pollution are provided by the Ministry of Environmental Protection.
