Main
Contents and Sources of Data
Data in this chapter show statistics on
participation in social activities, public security, procuratorial,
legal and judicial affairs, labor protection, women’s
Federation cardres and so on.
I. Data on participation in social
activities cover mainly information on representatives to the National People’s
Congress (NPC), members of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative
Conference (CPPCC) and National trade unions. Data on number of NPC and CPPCC
representatives are provided by NPC and CPPCC respectively. Data on expiration
of office terms of NPC and CPPCC are updated every five years. Data on National
trade unions are from All-China Federation of Trade Unions based on statistical
reporting form scheme.
Data on trade unions refer to “Statistical Yearbook on Chinese Trade
Unions” (All-China Federation of Trade Unions).
II. Data on women cadres include the age,
education, politics status and mobility of women cadres, which are provided by
the All-China Women Federation.
III．Data on public security, procuratorial,
legal and judicial affairs cover information such as criminal cases registered
and offense cases handled by the public security agencies, traffic or fire
accidents, cases handled by procuratorate’s
offices, cases accepted and settled by the people’s
courts, and statistics on lawyers, notarization and mediation. Data are from
the Ministry of Public Security, the Supreme People’s Procuratorate,
the Supreme People’s Court and the Ministry of Justice based on statistical
reporting form scheme.
IV. Data on labour
and social security mainly include revenue and expenses of social insurance
fund, urban employee basic pension insurance, urban basic medical care
insurance, unemployment insurance, work injury insurance, maternity insurance,
etc. Data are from the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security. Please
