Brief Introduction
I. Main Contents
This
chapter contains information that reflects natural resource conditions and the
development of environment protection in
Data
on natural conditions cover land area, mountain ranges, rivers, ocean and
meteorological phenomena.
Data
on natural resources cover use of land, change in cultivated land, water
resources, forest resources, mineral resources and meteorological phenomena.
The
development of environment protection mainly include water supply and
utilization, discharge and treatment of industrial and other waste water; urban
air quality, emission and treatment of waste gas; production, treatment and
utilization of industrial solid wastes, collection and disposal of consumption
wastes in cities; national monitoring of road traffic noise and urban environmental noise in key cities;
afforestation and natural protection; incidences of
geological, seismic, marine and forest disasters, environmental pollution and
destruction incidents; investment in environment pollution treatment, etc.
II. Sources of Data
Data
on natural conditions are compiled by the Department of Comprehensive
Statistics of the National Bureau of Statistics using relevant historical data.
Data
on meteorological phenomena, mineral and water resources, collection and
disposal of urban consumption wastes, use of land and change in cultivated
land, forest resources, marine disasters, etc. are provided respectively by
National Meteorological Administration, Ministry of Land and Resources,
Ministry of Water Resources, Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development,
State Forestry Administration and State Oceanic Administration.
Data
on environmental pollution and treatment, pollutants from consumption, acoustic
environment and on investment in the treatment of industrial pollution are
provided by the Ministry of Environmental Protection.
III. Scope of Statistics and Methods
of Survey
1)
Scope of statistics: industrial enterprises, urban living and other urban units
which discharge pollutants.
2)
Survey methods for discharge and treatment of industrial pollutants:
comprehensive survey is conducted on all key industrial enterprises, while
overall estimation is carried out for non-key enterprises. Data on discharge of
pollutants of key and non-key enterprises make up the total discharge of the
region.
Data
on pollution from consumption and other sources are estimated using relevant statistics
and technical parameters.
