In the first half of 2008, the national energy consumption for unit GDP declining 2.88 percent, that of the energy consumption per unit of industrial value-added decreasing 5.76 percent, year-on-year. In view of the energy consumption for unit value-added of industry, the coal industry, steel industry, non-ferrous metals industry, building materials industry, petroleum and petrochemical industry, chemical industry, textiles industry, and electric power industry respectively dropped 6.74, 4.05, 3.70, 9.98, 1.58, 4.76, 9.61 and 3.79 percent in their energy consumption for unit of GDP.
