Per Capita Cash Income of Farmers Kept Growth in the First Quarter

According to the result of nationwide sampling survey on 68 thousand rural households in 31 provinces of China, it was indicated that per capita cash income of farmers reached 1,494 yuan in the first quarter, a year-on-year increase of 18.5 percent, and a real growth of 9.1 percent after deducting price factors, down by 3.0 percentage point over the same period last year.

Per capita income from wages of farmers was 608 yuan, a year-on-year increase of 16.9 percent. Of the total, working in local enterprises obtained 355 yuan, an increase of 19.8 percent; working in local township gained 123 yuan, up by 21.0 percent; and working outside was 232 yuan, an increase of 19.0 percent.

Per capita cash income by selling agricultural products reached 555 yuan, a year-on-year growth of 20.4 percent. Of the total, per capita income by selling crop products reached 284 yuan, an increase of 13.8 percent; that by selling forestry products was 13 yuan, an increase of 7.2 percent; that by selling animal husbandry products was 236 yuan, rose by 30.7 percent; and that by selling fishery products was 22 yuan, increased 10.7 percent.

Income from secondary and tertiary industries by household operation achieved 182 yuan, increased 8.9 percent over the same period of last year. Of the total, per capita income from industry was 37 yuan, an increase of 2.1 percent; that from construction was 24 yuan, up by 9.3 percent; that from the tertiary industry was 121 yuan, rose by 11.1 percent.

Per capita cash income from properties was 47 yuan, a year-on-year increase of 27.5 percent, and that from transfers was 89 yuan, up by 41.3 percent.
