16. This part of the seminar was devoted to the presentation of the methods and techniques used in taking the Chinese Agricultural Census and in the dissemination of its results. The aim was to discuss the choices made in the main phases of the census organization and implementation and their reasons, and above all to discuss the problems met and the solutions adopted. The presentations of the papers and the discussions that followed emphasized the quality and meaning of the data collected and its potential uses, comparing and reconciling census and non-census data, and focusing on lessons for future improvement of agricultural census taking. Two sessions were devoted to this part of the seminar, and seven papers were presented.
