Notes:

1. Calculation Formula

Energy Consumption per Unit of GDP=Total Energy Consumption/GDP

Increase or Decrease Rate of Energy Consumption per Unit of GDP (%) =(Total Energy Consumption in 2008/GDP of 2008) / (Total Energy Consumption in 2007 / GDP of 2007) 1×100%

Electricity Consumption per Unit of GDP=Total Electricity Consumption / GDP

Increase or Decrease Rate of Electricity Consumption per Unit of GDP (%) =(Electricity Consumption per Unit of GDP in 2008/ GDP of 2008) / ( Electricity Consumption per Unit of GDP in 2007/ GDP of 2007) 1×100%

Energy Consumption per Unit of Industrial Value-Added = Total Energy Consumption / Industrial Value-Added

Increase or Decrease Rate of Energy Consumption per Unit of Industrial Value-Added (%) = (Growth Rate of Energy Consumption of Industry in 2008/ Growth Rate of Energy Consumption per Unit of Industrial Value-Added in 20081)×100%

2. The scope of the energy consumption per unit of industrial value-added is the main business income of industrial and corporate enterprises stood at five million yuan and above.

3. The figure of GDP and value-added industry are calculated according the price of 2005.

4. According to the revised GDP results after adjustment, the national energy consumption per unit of GDP in 2008 accounted to 1.155 tons of standard coal / 10000 yuan, down by 4.04 percent over 2007, this data was 3.66 percent before adjustment.

5. The data of Tibet Autonomous Region are absent temporarily.

6. This communiqué is not including Hong Kong SAR, Macao SAR and Taiwan Province.
