Kang Yi Met with the Delegation of the Agency for Strategic Planning and Reforms of the Republic of Kazakhstan

On the morning of January 22, Mr. Kang Yi, Commissioner of the National Bureau of Statistics of China (NBS of China), met with Mr. Zhandos Shaimardanov, Chairman of the Agency for Strategic Planning and Reforms of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and his delegation.

Mr. Kang Yi welcomed the delegation led by Mr. Zhandos Shaimardanov. Mr. Kang Yi said that China and Kazakhstan have a long history of traditional friendship. In recent years, the two countries carried out pragmatic cooperation in various fields that achieved fruitful achievements under frameworks of Shanghai Cooperation Organization, the Belt and Road Initiative and the China-Central Asia Mechanism. Mr. Kang Yi said that China is willing to learn from each other, and to push forward the common development in statistics.

Mr. Zhandos Shaimardanov expressed his gratitude to the NBS of China for the warm reception. He said that as the Kazakhstan-China permanent comprehensive strategic partnership keeps deepening, statistical cooperation between the two countries is expected to be enhanced to open a new chapter for Kazakhstan-China statistical cooperation.

The two sides also exchanged opinions regarding modernization of official statistics, national reform and development supported by big data and new technologies and platforms for data sharing.
