The 13th China Statistics Open Day successfully held in Beijing

National Bureau of Statistics held the 13th China Statistics Open Day in Beijing on September 20. Themed by ‘Digital Presentation of the New Era, Great Progress of the New Journey’, this session of statistics open day’s held to propagate great development achievements made for the cause of the Party and country, and to celebrate the upcoming 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China. Kang Yi, Secretary of Party Leadership Group and Director of the National Bureau of Statistics attended and addressed the event. Mao Youfeng and Mao Shengyong, Member of the Party Leadership Group and Deputy Director, Zeng Yuping, Chief Methodologist and Wen Jianwu, Chief Engineer of the National Bureau of Statistics attended the event.

 

 

According to Kang Yi, since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, in face of profound and complicated changes in development environment at home and abroad due to the world's unprecedented changes in a century and impact of outbreak of the pandemic, Party Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at its core held high the banner of Chinese characteristic, facilitated all-round and groundbreaking achievements for the cause of the Party and country as well as profound and fundamental changes with great historical initiative, tremendous political courage and strong sense of responsibility, comprehensively built moderately prosperous society as scheduled, realized the first Centenary Goal, and started a new journey towards comprehensive construction of a modern socialist country and realization of the second Centenary Goal, which enabled the irreversible course of history of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.

 

Kang Yi said that Party Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at its core paid great attention to statistical works since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, and made a series of major decisions and deployments on statistical reform and development. Under the guidance of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, statistical departments have been developing profound understanding of the decisive significance of ‘two establishes’, increasing the ‘four consciousnesses’, bolstering the ‘four matters of confidence’, realizing the ‘two safeguards’, promoting statistical reform in a swift and steady manner, and persistently improving statistical data quality, which allowed them to accomplish a bunch of great and difficult things that have been planned for many years. Aforesaid initiatives facilitated new steps, new accomplishments and new atmosphere of statistical undertakings. In the new journey, statistical departments will stick to original aspiration of statistics, fulfill mission given by the era, focus on improvement of statistical data quality, accelerate facilitation of statistical modernization and reform, give better play to surveillance function and role of statistics, do a good job in general surveys of the national conditions and strength, strengthen statistical analysis and monitoring, actively propagate economic and social development achievements made since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, and celebrate the upcoming 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China with concrete actions.

 

 

Video of Our ‘China Statistics Open Day’ was played, launch ceremony of the new book of Great Efforts in the New Era and Start of a New Chapter – the 18th to 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China was held, and media symposium was held at the site of event. Zeng Yuping, Chief Methodologist of National Bureau of Statistics communicated priorities of recent statistical surveys, main responsible persons of Department of Comprehensive Statistics introduced major achievements in economic and social development made since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, and media representatives had exchanges on statistical works of their concern.  

 

Totally around 80 people, including main responsible persons of different department level units of National Bureau of Statistics, journalists and responsible persons of related departments, attended the event.
