Mr. Ma Jiantang Met with Mr. Daniel Poneman, Deputy Secretary of the U.S. Department of Energy

On the morning of September 1, Mr. Ma Jiantang, Commissioner of the NBS, met with Mr. Daniel Poneman, Deputy Secretary of the United States Department of Energy, and the delegation of the United States Department of Energy led by him.

Mr. Ma Jiantang extended a warm welcome. He said that the NBS of China is willing to carry out equal and mutually beneficial exchange and cooperation with the United States on capacity building, data collection, data dissemination and transparency, within the results framework of the Sixth China-U.S. Strategic and Economic Dialogue.

Mr. Poneman said he was very pleased to meet with Mr. Ma, the U.S. Department of Energy is willing to carry out active cooperation with the NBS of China, and hoped the two sides to establish cooperation and exchange mechanisms as soon as possible.

Messrs. Xu Xianchun, Deputy Commissioner of the NBS, Zhang Jun, Deputy Director-General of Department of International Cooperation, Wen Jianwu, Director-General of Department of Energy Statistics, and Meng Hehe, Deputy Director-General of Department of Energy Statistics were present.
