Training Course on "Improving Quarterly Statistics of China" Officially Launched

The Collaboration Projects on “Improving Quarterly Statistics of China” training course conducted by NBS and OECD was launched on June 15. Mr. Xu Xianchun, Deputy Commissioner of NBS, attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech.

Mr. Xu Xianchun expressed sincere welcome on behalf of the NBS to the Italian experts whom invited to give lectures, and warm congratulations to the officially launched of training course. He pointed out that participants had to carefully study the experiences in quarterly accounting, seasonal adjustment, as well as analysis of short-term economic indicators from Italy, make a success of technical preparations for establishment and improvement of the chain index statistical system and quarterly GDP accounting system in China.

Messrs. Marco Marini, expert on national accounts, Italian National Institute of Statistics (ISTAT), and Francesco Zollino, expert from Central Bank of Italy, will be respectively made detailed introduction on quarterly accounting methods, seasonal adjustment methods, seasonal adjustment software systems, as well as short-term economic indicators during this two-week course.  

Mr. Du Weiqun, Director-General, Department of International Cooperation of NBS, presided over the opening ceremony. Messrs. Peng Zhilong, Director-General, and Dong Lihua, Deputy Director-General of Department of National Accounts, Chen Quangen, Counsel of Department of International Cooperation, and a total of 50 trainees from NBS and some Provincial and Municipal Bureau of Statistics attended the opening ceremony.
