Main Scenic Spots in Beijing

The Great Wall

The Great wall was a gigantic defensive project used in ancient times as early as in the 7th century B.C.. It stretches about 5,000 Kilometers from the eastern part of Liaoning in Northeast China to Lintao on the desert in the northwest of China, passing through 5 provinces, 2 autonomous regions and Beijing Municipality. The Great Wall was built section by section by different kingdoms in the period of the Warring States (476-221B.C.). After the Qin Dynasty unified China in 221 B.C., the separate sections were linked together and expanded to form the Great Wall. There is an old saying in China, that is ¡°You are not a man if you have not been to the Great Wall¡±. No tourist wants to miss the chance to visit it.
